Some of the nation's largest states are questioning whether the Obama administration's offer to let them escape certain mandates of the No Child Left Behind law is a helping hand to improve education or a means to impose more federal control.
Education waiver gives Minnesota flexibility
MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota education officials say the waiver from the strict requirements of the No Child Left Behind education law will give them the flexibility and resources necessary to help struggling students. President Barack Obama announced the waiver on Thursday.
